Eggs and Erections
« on: June 06, 2013, 09:58:32 pm »
Hi,

I am experimenting with eggs on my body. Four consecutive days I took eggs. I had strong libido and one erection.
It had been 5 days off on eggs--decreased libido and no erection so far.

The problem I have with eggs is when i eat them, I have constipation. when ever i eat oily food also , i have no good digestion.

what are the other sources of cholesterol do you recommend other than meat and egg?
How to test if my body is not good at digesting cholesterol?  is there anything do with digestive enzymes?

If cholesterol is so good, then why dont we get them in supplement form like protein? If available, kindly let me know which cholesterol supplement you use?

Regards

Okay, this is interesting.  You are basically ingesting a bunch of choline when you do this and this will in turn stimulate acetylcholine.  Acetylcholine can cause vasodilation, just like nitric oxide.  However, it is not as powerful.

But, anyway, very interesting story and if it works, it works.

Can I ask how many egg yolks you are eating per day?

My only comment:  there has got to be a safer way to get your erections back...

If you are on medications or have a medical condition, always check with your doctor first before making any lifestyle changes or taking new supplements. Yes, low T and E.D. are usually medical conditions.  There are potential risk with HRT:  http://www.peaktestosterone.com/testosterone_risks.aspx.

Gotcha.  Well, one egg has about 300 mg of Choline from what I remember and that is about what they have in most supplements.  But I've never hard of that level of choline making that much difference.

Choline also stimulates the brain and memory.  Acetylcholine is important to the brain of course and anticholinergics have been implicated in mild dementia in oder people.  So maybe that is your link?

Of course, there are two powerful antioxidants in eggs, lutein and zeaxanthanin, but I have not heard of these improving erections.

Hey, I don't know if you have the money for this, but, if you can afford it and are interested, can you buy a choline supplement and see if it has the same effect?  I'm just supercurious if it's the choline that is doing it for you.  (And, if you're not int'd, no big deal...)

One caution about choline:  it has a very similar structure to carnitine, which may be the "bad boy" in red meat.  (Controversial topic I realize...)

You mean choline can be the reason for low libido/T in me or it has influence in erections?

I will definitely try it. No problem at all. If you already know best supplement for choline, do let me know? I will say my results after using it for 1 week or so?

Eating eggs produces results for you the next morning, right?  If you can just try it for a few night, assuming your day was pretty normal, that should be good enough.

Btw, I posted this on the other "egg thread"

http://www.whfoods.com/genpage.php?tname=foodspice&dbid=92

Notice that whole eggs have a lot of selenium and tryptophan.  The latter could help with sleep in some men:

The only difference I can tell in my diet at home or on vacation, is,
I have whole eggs every morning on vacation.
unlike  at home I only eat egg white protein and never bacon.
I just wonder if the whole eggs are what is at least affecting my libido.

That's interesting.  Eggs aren't that high in fat, but (non-organic farm raised) are high in AA (arachidonic acid).  Maybe you are sensitive to pro-inflammatory conditions.  Non farm-raised chicken and turkey are the same.

[MODERATOR'S UPDATE:  I merged this thread with rambatista's because I have noticed several men say the same thing.  For example, see Just Askin's comments below.]

It just seem interesting that when I eat Whole Eggs (on vacation only) My Libido goes thru the roof!!!
After my next Cholesterol check,
I am going to experiment at home, with eating eggs in the morning, and see if I can duplicate what happens on vacation.

Gotcha.  Sorry a little slow there.  Yolks are a rich source if choline.  Maybe that's it.  (Studies show the choline may nit do much behind the blood brain barrier though...)

Eggs work for me! We were on vacation for two weeks staying in hotels eating eggs every morning, high libido each day. I now eat hard boiled eggs throughout each week. Also, on vacation I will spend more time in the sun absorbing more vitamin D.

Yes, I am on the Ornish diet, and my body fat is below 10%

You body fat is below 10%!  Nice.  I've got the line almost all the way down the middle of my abs, so I'm probably 13-14%.  I'd like to get to about 12%.  So you'll have to post some tips some time.  The real trick has been not to lose any muscle on the way and, so far, I've been able to retain what I got as far as I can tell.

Anyway, what I was going to say is that you don't want to go too low on fat from what I have heard.  Pritikin started out significantly under 10% and I don't know the details but heard that some patients had difficulties because of it and so they settled on 10% as the minimum.  It maybe due to Vitamin E absorption - I don't know.  Where I was headed is that an egg yolk will bump up your cholesterol just a bit - maybe 5% - and pregnenalone is made from this, so you may be getting a little needed boost in pregnenalone?  Again, just speculating.

One other interesting story about eggs:

Usually the feed they add to animals is bad news.  For example, the feed the give chickens raises the arachidonic acid levels of the yolk.  But one curiously positive thing that they add to chicken food is a antioxidant called astaxanthin.  This is an incredibly potent antioxidant and gives the lobster its color for example.  It has had many positive studies associated with increased testosterone levels:

http://www.peaktestosterone.com/How-To-Increase-Testosterone-Naturally.aspx (See #34.)

Also, I found other threads where guys are reporting the same thing.  This is very interesting to me and so I am going to merge the two threads.
